Obituary: Joyce A. (Gullo) Lemke, 79, Of Meriden
She was a hairdresser for many years and later became a child daycare provider.

MERIDEN, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Joyce A. (Gullo) Lemke, 79, of Meriden, died peacefully at her home on Monday, March 18, 2024. She was the loving wife of Edward F. Lemke Jr. for 57 years.
Joyce was born in Meriden, August 17, 1944, a daughter of the late Sebastian and Viola (Bacon) Gullo. She was a hairdresser for many years and later became a child daycare provider.
Joyce attended Mt. Carmel Church and was a devout Catholic. Her favorite song was “Make me a Channel of your Peace.” She loved to read daily devotional bible books and also loved doing crossword puzzles.

In addition to her beloved husband, Joyce is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Kevin Diaz of Meriden; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Doris Lemke also of Meriden; her grandchildren, Joseph and Joshua Diaz and Melissa Baez and her husband, Matthew; her great grandchildren, Logan, Landon and Lillian Baez all of Meriden; and her sister, Connie Partridge of Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Paul E. Lemke and her brothers, Albert and Donald Gullo.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27 at the Mausoleum in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 250 Gypsy Lane, Meriden. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home.
