Obituary: Martin J. Belanger, 60, of Meriden
Martin was a longtime employee at New England Mechanical, an active member of the Boy Scouts and known as an all-around good man.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Martin J. Belanger, 60, of Meriden, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Midstate Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Cindy Bess-Belanger.
Martin was born in Quebec, Canada on July 9, 1961, a son of Claudette (Richard) Belanger and the late Jean G. Belanger.
Martin was a longtime employee at New England Mechanical. He was a charter member of the P.L.A.V. Sons. He enjoyed going to the Rod and Gun club to shoot his guns and horseback riding at all his vacation destinations.
He was an active member of the Boy Scouts, Troop 23 with his boys when they were young. Martin could be caught watching soap operas, game shows and was a movie aficionado. If Clint Eastwood was in it, he watched it! Martin was a big foodie and enjoyed cooking for his family.
He loved spending summers in Canada growing up, working on his uncle’s farm and well into adulthood with his family.
He was just an all-around good man, with quite a sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends but most especially his snuggle buddy, his fur-baby, Barney.
In addition to his wife, Cindy, Martin is survived by two sons, Nathan Belanger of Meriden and Nicholas Belanger and his wife, Stephanie of Meriden; his mother, Claudette Belanger of Meriden; his brother, Daniel Belanger and his wife, Dodi of Reno, NV; his granddaughter, Delaney Belanger of Meriden; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends both in the US and Canada.
He was predeceased by his father, Jean G. Belanger.
Martin’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Saturday, June 18th, from 11:00am – 1:00pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1:00pm.
