Obituary: Mary (Liber) Janiga, 95, of Meriden
Mary worked for the Meriden Board of Education for many years and was heavily involved in the community.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Meriden Memorial Funeral Home) Mary (Liber) Janiga, 95, of Meriden, loving wife of the late Chester Janiga Sr., passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, Saturday, October 2, 2021 surrounded by loved ones.
Mary was born in Meriden, March 24, 1926, a daughter of the late Joseph Liber and Mary (Galys) Liber and had been a lifelong Meriden resident.
Mary was a 1944 graduate of Meriden High School and was employed by the Meriden Board of Education for many years until her retirement.
She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, where she was a member of the Sunshine Club, Ladies Guild, and Mother’s Circle.
Mary loved to entertain family and friends in her home and will be fondly remembered for her desserts and homemade brownies, her home was always open.
She is survived by her loving children Ellen Janiga, Robert Janiga and his wife Sandra, Chester Janiga Jr. and his wife Karen; three grandchildren Mae, Molly and Ryan Janiga; her great grandson Reid; several nieces; nephews and her grand-dog "Cooper".
She was predeceased by her two sisters Anne Mierzejewski and Rose Hart; and her brothers Walter and Benjamin Liber.
Mary's family would like to thank the home caregivers and hospice for their compassionate and excellent care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron St., Meriden. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mary may be sent to St. Faustina Parish, 82 Akron St., Meriden, CT. 06450. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
