Obituary: Michael J. Zimmer, 60, formerly of Meriden
Michael, fondly remembered for his kindness, generosity and sense of humor, was a successful entrepreneur and loving and devoted father.
MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Michael J. Zimmer, 60, of Spring Hill, FL, previously of Meriden, CT passed peacefully with family and friends by his side on June 12, 2022.
Michael was greeted in heaven with open arms by his son Mark who predeceased him, they had so many adventures together and shared many interests.
He was also predeceased by his parents Frank and Jean Zimmer of South Meriden.
He survived by his son Dustin Mullen, grandchildren Kadence Olivia, Ethan Mark and Tyler Dean Shields, daughter-in-law Jaclyn Shields (Ian), sister Linda Nagel (Brian), nieces Nikki Luft (Nick) and Danielle McCarthy (Brett), and four great-nieces with one on the way.
Michael was a self-employed computer programmer and entrepreneur. He graduated from Platt High School and Waterbury Tech College.
Michael will be fondly remembered for his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor.
He had a passion for supporting charitable causes and mentoring others.
He was always the first person to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He will be sorely missed to all those whose lives he touched.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
