Obituary: Olga C. Torres, 75, of Meriden
Olga, known for her big heart, was affectionately referred to as "Mama" and was considered the backbone of her family.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Olga C. Torres, 75, of Meriden, passed away October 23, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a year long battle with a long-term illness which she fought long and hard until the very end with family by her side.
She was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on April 4, 1946, a daughter of the late Andre and Emelia (Feliciano) Candelaria.
She was best known as "Mama" to everyone. She was the backbone to the family and will be greatly missed. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
She had the biggest heart in the world.
Olga is survived by her sons, Manuel Torres and his wife Maritza and Hector Torres and his wife, Jenny, of Meriden; her daughters, Maria Diaz and her husband, Luis, of Meriden; Olga Torres, of Ohio; and Ada Alvarez and her husband Ezequil, of Meriden; several grandchildren, Manny Junior, Angel, Vanessa, Sergio, Alex, Janiris, Luis, Eneida, Lydia and her husband David; Anita and her husband Sean; Margarita and her husband Buddy; and Kenny; and many great-grandchildren, Anthony, Ashton, Alex, Hunter, Livia, Savannah, Aubrey, Jazlynne, Ariana, Jaxson, and Bryson, and Anastasia.
Olga’s family will receive relatives and friends at the The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 12 pm until 2 pm with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home.
Masks and Covid-19 precautions are required. Interment will be in her hometown in Puerto Rico.
