Obituary: Ramon Carrero, 79, of Meriden
Ramon worked at the Hawthorne Inn Restaurant for 38 years, was a loyal Red Sox fan and cherished spending time with family.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Ramon Carrero, 79, of Meriden, loving husband of Ramonita (Medina) Carrero, passed away June 10, 2022 at Complete Care at Meriden.
Ramon was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on May 28, 1943, a son of the late Dionisio Carrero and Genoveva Rosa
He moved to Meriden in 1961. He worked at the Hawthorne Inn Restaurant for 38 years. He enjoyed listening to music, playing dominoes with his wife and was a loyal Red Sox Fan. In memory of Papi your welcome to wear Red Sox attire or red his favorite color.
His family meant the world to him and will be dearly missed.
Ramon is survived by his Son, Ramon Carrero of Meriden; his daughters, Ramona Carrero-White and her husband, Melvin White Jr., of Simi Valley, CA; Daisy Carrero (Jose Martinez) of Meriden; his grandchildren, Antonio Barreto, Malachi E. Carrero, Alice Ann Brady, Ramon Miguel Brady, James Luke Brady Jon Patrick Brady; his brothers, Saturnino Vargas of Springfield, MA, David Carrero of Aguadilla, PR; his sisters, Paquita Carrero and husband, Mario Franqui, of Philadelphia, PA, Natividad Carrero of Moca, PR.
He was predeceased by his son, Jesus Carrero, his sisters, Luz Maria Cardona, and Laura Cardona and his brother, Ruben Carrero.
Ramon’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 4 pm until 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am at Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden.
