Police Need Help Identifying Suspect Accused of Using Stolen Credit Cards Across CT
BREAKING: Credit cards stolen were used at Target in Meriden, Wal-Mart and gas stations in Rocky Hill Woodbridge and across the state.
BETHEL, CT — Lieutenant Michael J. Libertini, Field Operations Commander for the Bethel Police Department said Tuesday that the Bethel Police Department is investigating two motor vehicle break-ins which occurred sometime during the night between July 27 and July 28, 2016.
Credit cards and other items were stolen from unlocked vehicles parked in residential driveways near Route 6 and I-84 near exit 8. Two of the stolen credit cards were used on July 28, 2016 at Best Buy in Meriden, Target in Meriden, Wal-Mart in Naugatuck, and gas stations in Waterbury and Rocky Hill, police said. The suspect left the scene in a silver 4-door Honda Civic. No plates were identified.
Photographs of a suspect using one of the cards were obtained from the Target and Best Buy locations in Meriden where the suspect purchased Play Station 4 consoles, police said. During the investigation the Target Asset Protection staff showed Bethel investigators additional surveillance showing what appeared to be the same suspect using a credit card stolen in Woodbridge to purchase another Play Station 4 on Saturday, August, 6, 2016. Police said that the suspect left the scene in what appeared to be a silver 4-door Acura with a sunroof. No plate was identified.
