Richard Arthur Kowalker, 76, died on May 2, 2025; a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam with Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, later a Drill Instructor and recipient of 2 Purple Hearts, he worked various jobs including at Long Lane and Fall Mountain Schools, honored veterans at 723 funerals with his horse Melody, and enjoyed animals, nature, U.S. and military history, geography, motorcycling, travel, John Denver, “Forrest Gump,” and steak dinners.

Geraldine Estabrook, 94, died on May 2, 2025. She worked as a telephone switchboard operator before becoming a homemaker, was active in Catholic parish life as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteer, and enjoyed tennis, singing, dancing, vacationing in Marco Island, and spending time with children.

Gerard (Jerry) A. Roccapriore, 63, died on May 2, 2025. A former NYSE trader who built a career in insurance and finance with Sun Financial Group and Mass Mutual, he held degrees from Northeastern and the University of Bridgeport, and was a football and track standout at Orville H. Platt High School, enjoyed drumming in his rock band “Life,” and supporting the Catholic Church and his alma mater.

Edward Oquendo “Flaco,” 57, died on May 4, 2025. A hardworking supervisor at a local jacuzzi company, he enjoyed movies, dancing, music, joking with others, and cheering for the Cowboys.

Maryann B. Oberg, 86, died on May 4, 2025. After working at Aetna, she spent 30 years with the Meriden Board of Education, and enjoyed traveling—especially to Italy and Maine—reading, sewing, organizing lunches with friends, and watching game shows.

John “Jack” Greenwood Jr., 88, died May 7, 2025. A U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran of the Korean War, he had a lifelong career at American Cyanamid in Wallingford as a technician.
