Road Closures Announced For 5K, Kids Fun Run In Meriden
The Hartford HealthCare MidState Medical Center Run the Runway 5K and Kids Fun Run will take place Saturday in Meriden.
MERIDEN, CT — Officials are advising residents of several road closures that will be in effect for the Hartford HealthCare MidState Medical Center Run the Runway 5K and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, March 23.
The run starts and finishes at Meriden Markham Airport and will impact several roads in South Meriden.
From 8:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., there will be limited to no vehicle traffic permitted on the following streets:

- Evansville Avenue
- Baker Avenue (east of Evansville)
- Camp Streer
- Main Street (between Camp and Evansville)
- Hobart Street (connects Camp to Evansville)
The event is a “unique opportunity to run, jog, and walk on the runway,” according to a post on its website.
“The 5K race route will begin on the Meriden Markham Runway and venture out into the beautiful South Meriden neighborhood, before safely landing back on the runway for what will be a fantastic finish!” the post reads.

Proceeds will benefit the Beat the Street Community Center and future airport improvements.
