Sheila Duffy Welsh passed away on May 30, 2025.

Sheila dedicated her life to thinking of others before herself. She will live forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

Sheila Duffy Welsh passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on May 30, 2025. She was a loyal and committed mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, who always told her loved ones that “they were the greatest!”

Born on June 11, 1939 in New York City, Sheila grew up in the Bronx and summered in Milford at her grandmother’s beach house in Bayview. She eventually purchased the home, living in Milford year-round and raising her family there. She established the Wepawaug Realty Co., working as a Realtor, before moving on to a career at “The Phone Company” (SNET, SBC, ATT). Sheila loved to learn and earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration while actively working full time. She was known at work as a compassionate and knowledgeable supervisor, who could be approached for personal advice or technical knowledge equally.

Most important to Sheila was her family. She maintained a lifelong friendship with her cousins Maureen, Betty, and Jim in Bolton Landing, New York. Her greatest passions in life were hosting the family holidays and finding the perfect gift. Sheila set her table with china and crystal, and anyone who would otherwise be alone was welcome. Her door was open for friends and family to visit at will. Many family members and friends alike found respite living with Sheila during times of need.
