Meriden Police Participating In Special Olympics Torch Run
The Meriden Police Department will participate in the Special Olympics Torch Run on Thursday morning.

MERIDEN, CT — Police are advising motorists of some traffic interruptions that will take place Thursday morning as part of the Special Olympics Torch Run.
The Meriden Police Department will participate in the run around 11:30 a.m.
The torch is scheduled to be passed from Wallingford to Meriden at 11:30 a.m. at the town line on South Broad Street.

“This year we have a larger than normal amount of participants for the event,” police wrote in an email. “We will be joined by cadets from the CT Police Academy, Meriden Police Explorer Program and various other agencies. Traffic will be interrupted as the runners make the run North on Broad St. before taking a right and heading East on E. Main St. to the Middelfield line.”
