Tree Falls On Apartment Units, Causes Partial Collapse In Meriden: Officials

The fallen tree caused a partial collapse and two apartment units were deemed uninhabitable, according to officials.

MERIDEN, CT — Two apartment units were damaged by a fallen tree Tuesday night in Meriden, according to officials.

The incident happened in the 60 block of Woodland Ridge when a large tree fell between two buildings, according to Meriden Deputy Fire Chief of Operations Michael Clark.

Clark said the limbs and branches caused a partial collapse, and both units were deemed uninhabitable by the Meriden Building Inspector.

One person was assisted by the Red Cross, and there were no reported injuries, according to Clark.
