UPDATE (4:30 p.m.) From City of Meriden:
As many are aware, the Meriden Water Department is working to repair a water main break on S. Colony St. The road is closed between Gold St. and Olive St.
If the break can be contained to this general vicinity, there's 6 multi-family homes and 2 commercial lots presently impacted.
The Water Department says they’ve received calls from multiple locations across the city reporting discolored water, which is a result of the repairs in progress.
If you are experiencing a discoloration in your water, flush cold water through a tub or work/slop sink for 15-20 minutes. A faucet without filters or swivels is best. Repeat as necessary.
