• America 250 contest and cookbook (bee-news.com) — Middlebury families still have time to get kids’ designs and favorite recipes into the town’s America 250 celebrations. Local K–12 students can submit original T‑shirt art by December 15, and residents can share cherished recipes for a community cookbook through December 31, helping raise funds and showcase Middlebury’s history and flavor.
   

• Seen a weasel lately? (bee-news.com) — A local naturalist piece highlights the short-tailed weasel that Middlebury residents might glimpse in their own yards or along nearby trails. It explains how to tell weasel species apart, describes a dramatic chipmunk hunt witnessed by the Middlebury Bee Intelligencer editor, and notes how habitat loss, rodenticides, and climate change threaten these elusive predators.
   

• Krieger heads up new SCORE Western CT leadership team with Rich (westfaironline.com) — Small business owners in Middlebury are now served by the newly consolidated SCORE Western Connecticut chapter, led by co-chairs David Rich and Matthew Krieger. The group coordinates nearly 200 volunteer mentors and will run workshops, webinars, and other programs that support entrepreneurs across Fairfield, Litchfield, and western New Haven County towns.
