2025 Middletown Fireworks Festival Comes With Special Honor
Middletown's annual fireworks show is slated for this weekend.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — This year's fireworks show in Middletown comes with a special honor.
The city of Middletown will present the annual Fireworks Festival on Saturday, June 28, with a rain date of June 29. The festival will take place along the Connecticut River at Harbor Park, and on the front lawn of the City’s Municipal Building located at 245 DeKoven Drive.
The festival will present a fireworks display that is set off directly from a barge on the Connecticut River.

The fireworks festival is a family friendly event that typically draws large crowds to the downtown area of Middletown. The festival will kick off at 5 p.m. with live music, activities for children, and numerous food vendors throughout the harbor area and along DeKoven Drive.
Fireworks will commence just after dark, at approximately 9:30 p.m.

As part of the festivities, the Middletown Commission on the Arts will honor Robert "Bob" Nasta, a musician, composer, educator and advocate, with the MCA’s 2025 Music Ambassador Award. Nasta will be honored at a ceremony at the Fireworks Festival at 6 p.m. He will be accompanied by fellow musicians and dancers.
Parts of Court Street, DeKoven Drive, Harbor Drive, Dingwall Drive, MLK Way, River Road, and Eastern Drive will be closed during portions of the festival day.

Acting Mayor Gene Nocera commented, "We are fully ready for the Fireworks Festival, and the weather looks like it is cooperating. This is a wonderful annual event that bring the community together, and this year promises to be more exciting than ever."
