Documentary On Middletown Doctor Seeks The Public’s Help
The directors are turning to the public for stories or information for the documentary.

MIDDLETOWN, CT – A Documentary on the founder of Crescent Street Hospital in Middletown is being made, and the filmmakers are asking for the public’s help.
A documentary on Dr. Louis “Doc” Loffredo and the Crescent Street Hospital is being directed by Liam Coleman, Loffredo’s grandson, and assisted by Peter Loffredo, Louis’ youngest son, this summer.
Madison Arts Office staff said Coleman and Loffredo are looking for former patients and their extended families with a memory or a story to share about “Doc” or the hospital.

Dr. Louis founded the Crescent Street Hospital at 77-83 Crescent Street in Middletown on July 22, 1937.

Coleman and Loffredo said the Civil War row house was transformed into a facility that provided surgical, medical, x-ray and maternity services. The hospital grew from its initial 17-bed capacity to a 40-bed capacity at the time of Louis’ death on March 25, 1964.
