How To Repair Damaged Electrical Equipment On Your Home

Middletown residents who suffered electrical service damage at their homes due to last week's storm are advised to follow specific steps.

MIDDLETOWN, CT – Middletown residents who suffered electrical service damage at their homes due to last week's storm are advised to follow specific steps in order to ensure repairs are done correctly.

Eversource has issued guidance to help restore power with temporary repairs for Cheshire residents who experienced damage. Once temporary repairs are made, local wire inspectors will need to inspect the property and issue a permit in order for permanent repairs to be completed.

While Eversource maintains the electrical grid that serves the area, some of the equipment that connects properties to the grid is the responsibility of the property owner. These items include the meter box and the pipe and wire from the meter box to the point of attachment to the house.
