MIDDLETOWN, CT — It's now last call for leaf collection in Middletown.

City officials said Friday that, to ensure collection this season, leaves must be at the curb — both loose or in bags — by Sunday, Dec. 1.

Public Works crews are making the final pass through local roads starting Monday, Dec. 2.

Residents need to follow the proper leaf collection protocol outlined at:

Leaves will not be picked up at all if they are in plastic bags, municipal officials said.

"Middletown residents are being encouraged to use natural leaf disposal methods as well. Mulching or composting leaves on your property is the most environmentally-friendly option of leaf disposal," municipal officials said.
