Middletown Celebrates Earth Day 2023 On Harbor Park
Featured speakers are Mayor Ben Florshiem, Green Amendments for the Generations Found and story time featuring drag artists.
MIDDLETOWN, CT – Middletown’s Earth Day celebration is back for the second time, bringing events for all ages.
The 2nd Annual Earth Day Extravaganza is on Saturday, April 22, with a rain date for Sunday, April 23, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Harbor Park.
Several people will speak throughout the day, starting with a welcome by Mayor Ben Florsheim and local legislators at 12:15 p.m. Maya K. van Rossum, founder of Green Amendments for the Generations, at 12:40 p.m. Tom Christoper, will speak on sustainable and environmentally beneficial lawns at 1 p.m. Then at 1:30 p.m., a drag artists Frizzie, Rory and Hella will read books and share rhymes and songs for children and their families.

Before the Earth Day celebration, Middletown Complete Streets Committee hosts a leisurely bike ride along the river. They will gather at 11 a.m., set out at 11:15 .m. and return around 11:45 a.m.
At 1:45 p.m., the audience will have the opportunity to participate in an improvisatory musical experience to celebrate the beauty of sound as it resonates and reverberates through the tunnel opening on Harbor Park.

Other happenings: Time of Day Band will perform live, Soufully Vegan Food Truck and Eli Cannon’s Beer Trailer will be at the celebration.
