Middletown Cops: 'Stop For School Buses, Even On 4-Lane Roads'
Middletown police are gearing up for school buses being back on local roads.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — With the start of school just about a week away in Middletown, local police ended this week with a distinct message to motorists.
If you see a stopped school bus stopped, stop yourself.
"We'd like to remind the public to be mindful of the school busses and bus stops in your area," police said.

Police issued a graphic to guide motorists through the rules:

Police on Friday were emphasizing not only neighborhood streets, but "four-lane, non-divided highways," like state Route 66, known locally as Washington Street. Even if the bus is on the far right lane heading on one direction and a car is in the far right hand lane in the opposite direction, that car must stop, police said.
