Middletown Man Killed In Crash On Arrigoni Bridge, ID Released: Police

Police said the driver of a 50cc moped had crashed on the pedestrian walkway of the bridge.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A 35-year-old Middletown resident was killed in a crash on the Arrigoni Bridge Saturday afternoon, police said.

At 1:32 p.m. police responded to the Arrigoni Bridge for the report of a serious motor vehicle accident.

Police said the driver of a 50cc moped had crashed on the pedestrian walkway of the bridge. The operator, identified as 35-year-old Kristopher Hinton of Middletown, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased, police said.

"The preliminary investigation suggests that Hinton was traveling too fast for the sidewalk and lost control of the moped," police said in a news release.

The Middletown Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating the case. Anyone with information on the crash is encouraged to contact Officer J. Zadjura at 860-638-4063.
