Middletown Police Identify Pedestrian Killed In Tuesday Crash

Investigators are still looking for witnesses to a Tuesday night crash that killed a pedestrian.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown police have identified the pedestrian killed in a collusion with a car Tuesday night.

Police Thursday said 64-year-old James Holley, of, Middletown, was killed in the accident.

The crash took place at 9:48 p.m. on Washington Street in the area of High Street, according to a crash report. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a man in the roadway with serious injuries and a gray Toyota Camry with front end damage, according to an incident report.

The man was taken to Middlesex Hospital but later died from his injuries, according to an incident report.

The driver of the Toyota, a 30-year-old Middletown man, sustained minor injuries and was also transported to Middlesex Hospital, police said.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the Toyota was traveling westbound on Washington Street in the right travel lane. The pedestrian appeared to be walking southbound and crossed Washington Street at the High Street crosswalk, according to an incident report. He and the Toyota collided in the intersection, according to an incident report.
