'New Improved Haunting' Featured At Powder Ridge This Fall
It's the third season for Haunting at the Ridge in Middlefield.

MIDDLEFIELD, CT — Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort will again be overrun by monsters, demons and zombies this fall as it welcomes back its Haunting at the Ridge attraction for a third consecutive year.
This year’s event, run in partnership with Phantom Productions, offers an expanded thrill and haunt program.
Billed as the "Most Unique Haunt in New England," Haunting at the Ridge turns the typically serene mountain park and resort into a "sprawling nightmare," with "haunting forces" lurking along the trails and chair lifts. The 2024 Haunting at the Ridge not only expands on past years' experiences but also consolidates the event into a "single, immersive journey."

"Following a successful second year at Powder Ridge, we are excited to heighten the thrill," said Tony Savio of Phantom Productions. "We will no longer offer multiple haunt locations. We've made the decision to consolidate to just one, Powder Ridge. By concentrating all our attractions, entertainment, and staff to Powder Ridge, it gives our guests the ultimate experience with even more thrills."
The haunt starts with a chair lift ride in the dark through the Valley of the Giants. Guests will then descend on foot, facing the terrors that haunt the mountain at night like a haunted pumpkin patch, a witches' coven and a campground. Also new this year is a reward to those who make it down the mountain — the Zombie Lounge. The Zombie Lounge offers a relaxing setting with music, entertainment, fire pits, and refreshments.

"Those lucky enough to make it down will be rewarded in the Zombie Lounge with DJs, live entertainment, specialty food stations and beverage service," Powder Ridge CEO Sean Hayes said. "The Zombie Lounge is one of the experiences that make our haunt so unique — and it's open to anyone, even if you prefer not to partake in the haunted trail."
