Obituary: Dorothy H. (Cantwell) Messer, 84, Of Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, CT — (From Biega Funeral Home): Dorothy H. (Cantwell) Messer, 84, of Middletown, wife of the late Donald F. D’Amico, Sr., passed away peacefully on June 25, 2022 at Middlesex Hospital.

She was born in Middletown, daughter of the late Michael P. and Madeline (Corbett) Cantwell. Dorothy spent over 30 years working and spreading happiness at Alfredo’s Riverside Restaurant, Middletown.

She is survived by her son, Donald F. D’Amico, Jr. of Middletown; daughter, Darlene Aivano and her husband Robert of Middletown; grandchildren, Dawn Mendez and her fiancé Joseph Marcucio of Northford, and Joseph D’Amico and his wife Gaylynn of Cromwell; great grandchildren, Jason Collins, Angelise Mendez, Gabriele Francis Moses D’Amico. She was predeceased by her daughter, Dolores Coleman; brother, Michael Cantwell; and sister, Maureen Cantwell.

Her Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday (June 30) at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, Middletown. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
