Obituary: Josephine (Catalano) Gaudino, 78, of Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, CT - (From Biega Funeral Home) Josephine (Catalano) Gaudino, 78, of Middletown, wife of the late Salvatore Gaudino, died Tuesday February 9, 2021 at Apple Rehab, Middletown, after a brief illness.

She was born in Melilli, Italy, the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Fargione) Catalano.

Prior to her retirement, Josephine was employed at Cooper Thermometer and most recently at Stop and Shop in Cromwell.

One of Josephine's favorite things to do was to cook for her family.

She also loved knitting and crocheting blankets for her family and friends. She had a great fashion sense and always looked her best.

She is survived by her daughters, Rose Cruz and Linda Pagano, both of Middletown; son, James Gaudino of Middletown; sister, Nella D'Amico of Middletown; brothers, Sebastian Catalano of Uncasville, Benito "Benny" Catalano of FL; five grandchildren, Chris, Marlise, Justine, Courtney and Anthony; three great-grandchildren, Colin, Nora and Sienna; also several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Vincent and Salvatore Catalano; and son-in-law, Joseph Pagano.

Funeral services and burial in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Rockfall, are private. There are no calling hours.
