Obituary: Raymond T. Koscuk, 79; Formerly Of Middletown
Ray, who served in the CT National Guard, was the owner of East Hampton Pizza House and DaLaurs Restaurant in Portland for many years.
MERIDEN, CT — (From Biega Funeral Home): Raymond T. Koscuk, 79, of Meriden, formerly of Middletown, died Friday March 26, 2022 at his home. He was born in Middletown, the son of the late Samuel E. and Mary (Bugaj) Koscuk.
Ray served in the CT National Guard and was the owner of East Hampton Pizza House in East Hampton and DaLaurs Restaurant in Portland for many years. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School where he was a standout athlete. His love for sports continued after high school and for many years and he enjoyed playing golf, men’s softball, bowling and fishing.
During his time at DaLaurs, Ray met many lifelong friends between the staff and his regular customers. The DaLaurs regulars became a part of our extended family and Ray loved them greatly.
During his retirement, Ray spent his time catching up with old friends talking about “the old days,” UCONN Basketball, grandchildren, growing up in Middletown and the New York Yankees.
Ray got his greatest joy from spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, David Koscuk and his wife Christina of Meriden; daughter, Laura Koscuk of Middletown; his grandchildren Graysen, Greta, Gemma; and his close friends Pam and Pete Savejs, Doug Rittman, Rob McLean and Tony.
Friends may visit with his family at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown on Friday (April 1) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Middletown will be private.
