Obituary: Ruth A. Morris, 93, of Middletown
Ruth was a member of the Durham Women's auxiliary and worked many years as a legal secretary.
MIDDLETOWN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Ruth A. Morris, 93, of Middletown, wife of the late Walter Drake Morris, passed away April 28. 2022 at Wadsworth Glen Rehabilitation Center in Middletown.
She was born in Hamden on December 15, 1928, a daughter of the late James and Ruth (Gruvstedt) Abbatello.
Ruth was the youngest of four children and grew up on Westminster Street in Hamden, where graduated Hamden High School 1946.
Ruth belonged to the Durham Women’s auxiliary for many years and was employed by Robert Palmer attorney at law as a legal secretary.
Hobbies and passions were crafts and cake decorating.
She is survived by her sons, John Morris and his wife, Alba and James Morris and his wife, Cheryl: her daughter, Karen Moore; her daughter-in-law, Gwen Karraker; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Morris and her brothers, Charles, Andrew and James Abbatello.
Roth’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 9 am until 11 am.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
