Obituary: Yanilis ‘Yani’ Santiago, 19, Of Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Yanilis “Yani” Santiago, 19, of Middletown, beloved daughter of Ricardo Santiago of Middletown and Sharon Folch of Florida, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Midstate Medical Center due to injuries sustained in a tragic car accident. She was born in Meriden on August 11, 2002.

Yani graduated from Middletown High School, Class of 2021 and was studying at Naugatuck Valley Community College working towards obtaining her degree as an LPN. She was employed by Amazon in Wallingford.

She is survived by her mother, Sharon Folch of Florida; her father, Ricardo Santiago of Middletown; her brother, Kevin Oliveras, her sisters, Alianys Oliveras and Lexie Martell; her maternal grandparents, Frank Folch and Lillian Rodriguez; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

Yani’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford on Friday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with a funeral service at 12 p.m. Immediately following the funeral service, the funeral cortege will proceed to Walnut Grove Cemetery for burial.
