A pedestrian was hit by a car in Middletown early Tuesday morning and later died police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A pedestrian was hit by a car in Middletown early Tuesday morning and later died, police said.
According to an incident report, on Tuesday at 3:31 a.m., Middletown Police Officers and EMS crews responded to the rear of 100 Main Street (DaVita Dialysis) for a report of a man found lying on the ground with injuries to his head and extremities.
This man was transported to Middlesex Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to an incident report.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
The names of the victim and driver were not being immediately released, police said, citing an active investigation. It was an isolated incident and there was never any threat to the public, according to police.
