Pedestrian In Critical Condition Following Collision With Vehicle In Middletown Monday Morning

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A pedestrian was seriously hurt in a collision with a vehicle Monday morning in Middletown, police said.

The crash took place at approximately 6:34 a.m., in the area of 139 Main Street Extension, police said.

When they arrived at the scene, officers determined that a 66-year-old man had been struck by a motor vehicle while crossing Main Street Extension. He was rushed to Hartford Hospital with a life-threatening head injury and remained in critical condition Monday afternoon, according to an incident report.

The operator of the vehicle stopped after the collision and has been cooperating with the police investigation led by by the Middletown Police Traffic Division. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to contact police at 860-638-4063.

The road was closed in both directions until about 10 a.m.
