MIDDLETOWN, CT – The Wadsworth Mansion will once again transform its vista into a marketplace and festival where various vendors gather to sell their Connecticut-grown or made products.

The Wadsworth Mansion Open Air Market and Festival is set for Aug. 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 421 Wadsworth St.

Market and festival goers can stroll from tent to tent, purchasing fresh produce, fruit, cheese, breads and prepared foods. Local artists such as potters, painters and jewelers have been invited to sell their work.

Visitors are encouraged to lounge on the lawn with lunch and listen to live music performed on the patio.

The music starts at 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with the Middletown Symphonic Band. From 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Austin James and the Nomads perform on the patio.

Families can bring their children and spend the day.

There will be activities during the Wadsworth Mansion Open Air Market and Festival. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be a kindness Rock Painting station. The Mansion will also be open for self-guided tours throughout the day.

Parking will be at Wilbert Snow School, Mercy High School and Vinal High School. The most convenient parking is at Mercy High School. Mansion parking is reserved for handicapped and families with strollers only.

A shuttle will run between Snow School, the Mansion, Vinal High School and Mercy High School.

Well-behaved dogs are permitted outdoors for the event.
