Fire Reported Inside City Of Milford Facility, Officials Say
Fire crews responded to the active blaze on Wednesday.

MILFORD, CT — The Milford Fire Department said crews responded at 10:33 a.m. Wednesday to the transfer station for a fire inside the building.
"Crews knocked down the blaze so Public Works employees could move the container outside of the building," fire officials said. "Public Works used heavy machinery to remove the contents of the container while MFD continued to extinguish the fire."
Mutual aid companies from West Haven and Stratford covered Milford's stations and responded to other emergencies in the city until local units cleared the scene, officials said.

The Stratford Professional Firefighters IAFF 998 said on social media, "This morning, while Milford firefighters were handling a truck fire inside their transfer station on Oronoque Rd, Stratford Engine 3 and Milford Medic 3 teamed up to handle an emergency run in Milford. This is a great example of the strength of our reciprocal mutual aid agreements with neighboring departments. It ensures that no matter what’s happening, communities are always protected and emergency coverage is never interrupted."
