Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Southern CT: Here's What To Know

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for coastal sections of southern Connecticut.

"There is potential for low temperatures Wednesday night into Thursday morning to drop to freezing or just below. The growing season is ongoing along the CT coast and southern Westchester and a Freeze Warning may be needed," the weather service said in a statement issued Tuesday morning.

In the short-term, the forecast on Halloween will be sunny and cold with temperatures near 50 degrees, but for trick-or-treating, temperatures will drop into the upper 30s, according to the weather service.

We'll stay largely chilly through Thursday, with daytime high temperatures only around 50 degrees. The forecast low Wednesday night is just 32 degrees.

On Friday and this upcoming weekend, temperatures will rise to around 60 degrees. There doesn't appear to be any rain in the weekend forecast. We haven't gone without rain on a weekend in a seemingly very long time.

Here are the extended forecast details for coastal sections of southern Connecticut via the National Weather Service:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 51. Northeast wind 5 to 8 mph.

Tonight: A 40 percent chance of rain, mainly after 2am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 37. East wind around 7 mph.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 49. North wind around 10 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 32. Northwest wind around 9 mph.

Thursday: Patchy frost before 9am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 51. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 38.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 58.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 61.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.
