Milford FD Starts Fire Prevention Poster Recognition Program Contest

The purpose of the contest is to promote child and adult awareness of fire prevention responsibilities.

MILFORD, CT – To promote child and adult awareness of fire prevention responsibilities, the Milford Fire Department has started the Fire Prevention Poster Recognition Program.

Adam Hansen, Milford Fire Department PIO, said senior fire inspector Marc LaBrecque has announced the start of this year's program.

Hansen said the contest's theme is “Fire Prevention – Everyone/Every Day.”

The annual statewide competition for fourth and fifth graders began Oct. 1 and is run by elementary school teachers in cooperation with several recognized program sponsors.

Hansen said LaBrecque will be soliciting the assistance of local Milford community businesses for areas to exhibit the top three winners' posters from the fourth and fifth graders, six posters in total so that community members will all be more aware of the importance of fire prevention of all times.
