Man Charged In Milford Street Takeover: Police

MILFORD, CT — A New Haven man has been charged in connection with the street takeover on July 8, the Milford Police Department said.

During the street takeover on July 8, when about 300 dirt bikes, AVTs and motorcycles drove through Milford, causing traffic delays and violations, a dirt bike rider was observed traveling on Boston Post Road near the I-95 North entrance ramp, police said.

The dirt bike operator, identified as Kendall Rose, 31, of New Haven, drove up on the left side of a police cruiser in the left lane where it branches off westbound on Cherry Street, police said.

Rose passed in front of the cruiser, then continued to drive recklessly, changing lanes, driving in the breakdown lane and passing other vehicles without signaling, police said.

Rose drove onto the grass median separating the I-95 North entrance and exit ramp, went off the exit ramp, turned right on the sidewalk near the Athenian Diner and continued to travel westbound on the sidewalk, police said.

On Oct. 12, Rose turned himself in on an active arrest warrant issued by the Milford Superior Court, police said.

Rose was charged with reckless driving, improper signal, failure to drive right, driving on the sidewalk and operating without a license, police said.

Rose posted a $5,000 court-set bond and is scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on Nov. 9.
