Cintra was preceded in death by her beloved sister Olga Reigeluth and brother Vaughan Morgan. We will honor our Mother’s legacy by honoring her values of kindness and generosity of spirit.

Cintra attended The Agnes Irwin school as a young girl, graduated from The Westover School, the University of Pennsylvania, where she met her husband Dr. Bayard Badenhausen, and obtained her Masters Degree in Social Work from Fordham University.

Cintra had a successful career in human services as a social worker and psychoanalyst, practicing late into her eighties.

It was her experience attending the Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota Florida that seeded Cintra’s spirit, instilling a life-long support of nature as teacher. As a teenaged counselor at a “fresh-air” camp outside Philadelphia, and later as a Girl Scout leader for more than forty years, Cintra shared her love of rivers and lakes.

She helped almost a thousand girls develop a passion for camping and canoeing, attending competitions all over the Northeast. Cintra and her dear friends Laura Sorgenfrei, Edith Sloane, and Leon Smith spent many Summers portaging through Canada with Senior Girl Scouts, creating friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.

When Cintra married Bayard in 1948 they continued his passion for classic cars, attending car meets with the older children. Their marriage lasted almost seventy years, until Bayard’s passing in October 2017, a few months after his ninety-seventh birthday.

Although Cintra looked like a starlet, she was warm, light-hearted and engaging, with a creative, mischievous and curious nature. She passed on many of these traits to her family.

Cintra’s home was often the gathering place for kids of all ages. Everyone was welcome, and many found a refuge there. As one family friend shared, one could “be yourself” with her
