Obituary: David F. Yerxa, 80, of Milford

David worked for over 30 years in the trucking and transportation field and was a member and coach in many Milford youth football leagues.

MILFORD, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) David F. Yerxa, 80, of Milford, beloved husband of Judith Yerxa, passed away on May 9, 2021. David was born on October 22, 1940 in Manhattan, NY to the late David and Anna Ruth Yerxa.

David worked for over 30 years in the trucking and transportation industry. He was very active in sports and spent many years as a coach for Milford Junior Football League and Milford Elks Pop Warner, bringing those teams to several championships.

In 1982, David coached the Foran High School freshman football team and completed the year undefeated. He was a member of the Milford Jaycees and Ansantawae Masonic Lodge 89.

David was an avid boater who served on the Milford Harbor Commission and was past president of the Morningside Asssociation.

In addition to his wife, Judy, David is survived by his sons, David W. Yerxa and Daniel E. Yerxa and his wife Christina; grandsons, David C. and Jack Yerxa and Christopher and William Yerxa; and niece and nephew, Lisa Berry and John Berry.

David was predeceased by his daughter, Jacqueline Yerxa and his sister Nancy Berry.

No services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
