Obituary: Joseph R. Seiger, 94, of Milford

MILFORD, CT - (From Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home) Joseph R. Seiger, age 94, of Milford, beloved husband of 57 years to the late Irene J. (Farkas) Seiger, passed away on April 26, 2021.

He was born on September 30, 1926 In Philadelphia, PA and was the son of the late Ann Poulos. He graduated from Bassick High School and Embry-Riddle School of Aviation in FL. Mr. Seiger was a proud veteran with the U.S. Army Air Corps and served during WWII.

Mr. Seiger worked as a foreman at Sikorsky Aircraft for 34 years before his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and Thursday morning breakfast with the guys. He was a member of St. Ann Church 50+ Club and a volunteer with the Milford Hospital Auxiliary.

Mr. Seiger is survived by his devoted daughter, Carol A. Altieri and her husband Frank of Milford and two grandchildren, Laura Altieri (Jon Kaplan) of Stamford and Luke Altieri (Lauren Bertuzzi) of Milford. In addition to his mother and wife, he was predeceased by his loving son, Robert J. Seiger.

His daughter, Carol would like to thank everyone who helped her Dad in recent years.

A Walk-Through Calling Hour will be held on Friday, April 30th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD.

A mass of Christian Burial will be followed (DIRECTLY) at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ann Church (Saint Raphael Parish) 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford.
