Obituary: Richard DeForest, 94, of Milford

Richard, a lifelong musician, performed with the Milford Community Band and worked as a licensed electrician for the Town of Fairfield.

MILFORD, CT - (From Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home) Richard DeForest of Milford, CT passed away peacefully on April 23, 2021. Born in Bridgeport on January 17, 1927, Richard spent his entire 94 years living and working in Connecticut.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty DeForest and her four children, George Jennings, Kevin Jennings, Craig and Beth Jennings and Cheryl Jennings.

He also has a surviving daughter Leslie Robetucci.

Richard's true passion was music. A lifelong musician, he played the saxophone and clarinet and performed for years with the Milford Community Band.

His favorite styles of music were Big Band Orchestra and all forms of Jazz. Richard and Betty enjoyed travelling throughout the country for many years to jazz festivals.

Richard worked for 31 years until the age of 71 as a licensed electrician for the Town of Fairfield BOE.

He was a popular personality throughout the Fairfield school system.

Friends may call on Friday, April 30th from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. in THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Interment will be private.
