Obituary: Rosario G. Castaneda, 71, formerly of Milford
Rosario, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, worked many years as an office clerk and cherished spending time with loved ones.
MILFORD, CT - (From Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home) Rosario G. Castaneda, age 71, of Shelton and formerly of Milford, beloved wife of Leonardo Castaneda, died peacefully at home on Thursday, November 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Rosario was born in Pasay City, Philippines on October 8, 1950, to Nicena Borja Garcia of Milford and the late Benjamin Garcia.
Rosario worked as an office clerk for many years.
She loved baking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Jason Castaneda (Lauren) of Fairfield, Mark Castaneda (Peggy) of NJ, and Grace Valentin (Luciano) of Shelton, eight cherished grandchildren: Maya and Leo, Evan, Lori and Jonathan, and Aiden, Chase and Caleb, siblings: Regino Garcia (Cynthia) of CA, Redentor Garcia (Barbara) of Canada, Antonia Garcia (Nicholas Jones) of CA, Imelda Garcia (Stephen Lopez) of Stamford, Regina Garcia of the Philippines, Liana Garcia of Middletown, and several nieces and nephews.
Rosario is predeceased by her son, Jonathan Castaneda. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, November 23rd from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 24th at 10 a.m. at Saint Joseph’s Church, 50 Fairmont Place, Shelton.
Interment will be private.
