Obituary: Shirley Pauline Whelan, 89, of Milford
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
MILFORD, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Shirley Pauline Whelan, 89, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Whelan, Sr., passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on February 26, 2021.
Born on April 4, 1931 in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Blonford and Ardell (Parsons) Haight.
Shirley is survived by her children, Cheryl (Tom) Briglia, Robert “Bob” (Kathy) Whelan, Jr., Matt (Tracey) Whelan, and Joel Blonford (Debbie) Whelan; her grandchildren, Jason (Michelle) Briglia, Rebecca (Patrick) Darcy, Jeffery (Lauren) Briglia, Robert (Amy) Whelan, III, Adam (Gina) Whelan, Dan Rizzo, Joel Blonford Whelan, Jr., and Joshua Benjamin Whelan; her thirteen great grandchildren; her sister, Vera Dooling, and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Jack Dooling.
All services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
