Overnight Blaze Damages Milford Home: FD
A homeowner escaped the burning, smoke-filled residence with their pet dog, according to the fire department.

MILFORD, CT — A fire caused severe damage to a local home early Tuesday morning.
The homeowner and a pet dog were able to get out safely before firefighters arrived, and no one was injured, according to the fire department.
Firefighters were summoned to the 62 Alden Place residence around 2:10 a.m. for a report of a fire in the stairwell, the department said, in a Facebook post.

When firefighters arrived, the house had heavy fire coming from its second-floor window. The department quickly extinguished the blaze.
The department said the residence is a one-and-a-half story, wood frame, Cape Cod style home.

The American Red Cross was notified to assist the homeowner.
The Milford Fire Department’s Fire Marshal Division is still investigating the cause of the blaze.
