MILFORD, CT — As the 2023 municipal elections get closer in Milford, there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

Milford Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will publish candidate profiles as Election Day draws near.

Bill Bevan, 74, a retired Milford resident, is running for Aldermen of the Fifth District in Milford as a republican candidate.

Bevan holds degrees from the New York Institute of Photography, Housatonic Community College and the University of New Haven. He is married to his wife Cindy.

Why are you seeking this office?

To continue to work for the people of Milford.

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Taxes. I will vote for a good budget. I will not vote for a budget that does not have the people in mind.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I have lived in Milford for the last 73 years and have seen it all.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Budget, new police station, mall expansion, public safety, Upgrades in Public works.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I helped many people in all five districts with many of their problems. I can get the job done due to the vast number of people in City Government I have worked with in the past.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Don't give up. Keep the faith.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I have helped the residents of Milford in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
