WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said storms are possible "shortly after lunch and will be isolated to scattered in nature. Heavy rain is likely under storms, and there may be a stronger storm or two in the mix."

Wednesday appears to be mostly sunny, with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.

We exceed 90 degrees on Thursday and Friday and there is a chance for more storms Thursday afternoon and Saturday afternoon, the weather service said.

"We’ve gone ahead and issued an *alert* for Thursday and Friday, giving you the Early Warning to what is likely to be dangerous heat (also storms for Thursday)," WFSB 3 TV Meteorologist Mike Slifer with Scot Haney said. "We’ll be approaching “heat advisory” criteria both days, with “feels like” temperatures in the 95-104 range both afternoons."

"The storm chances will increase through the week, too. Thursday looks troubling as we’re in the slight risk category to receive strong to severe storms. Friday could also bring showers or storms, especially as a cold front approaches," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. "...We’re thinking the greatest risk for storms is later Friday into the overnight hours, with a trend toward drier weather on Saturday." (Read/watch the full WFSB 3 TV weather forecast here).

Temperatures are forecast to exceed 90 degrees on Saturday, but will drop to around 80 degrees on Sunday. Sunshine is forecast this upcoming weekend, but there is the thunderstorm chance on Saturday afternoon.
