Stopping In Milford Led To A $100,000 Lottery Prize For This Truck Driver
The massive lottery prize was sold by a Milford business.
MILFORD, CT — A Connecticut truck driver’s stop in Milford for a break turned into a six-figure Powerball prize, according to the Connecticut Lottery.
Lottery officials said that the truck driver was returning from Virginia and decided to stop at the Wheels Convenience Store on Old Gate Lane in Milford — "something he says he does often during his travels." He purchased a Powerball ticket.
That ticket ended up matching four of the five white balls and the red Powerball drawn on August 6. The win was worth $50,000, but because the driver purchased the Power Play option, the 2X multiplier turned that win into a $100,000 pay day. Power Play is an add-on feature that can increase non-jackpot prizes depending on the multiplier drawn during a Powerball drawing.
