What's a day at the beach without a good book?
For beachgoers looking for a summer read, Penny's Bookshelf has some recommendations.
There's James Patterson's "12th of Never," which store owner Penny Valentin calls "a light, fun, whodunit mystery."
For those interested in non-fiction, Valentin recommends Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard's "Killing Kennedy."
And for romance -- "nothing beats a good romance novel," says Valentin -- she suggests "And Then She Fell" by Stephanie Laurens.
The Bridgeport Avenue bookstore opened in Milford 30 years ago, says Valentin, who grew up in town and started working here part-time when she was in college.
Valentin continued to work at the store after graduating and when her boss decided to sell in 1991 she bought the store.
