Sundae House Property Sold For $388K In Milford

An ice cream shop with a long history in the city has closed, and the property it sits on sold recently.

MILFORD, CT — The Sundae House, which served sweet treats in Milford for more than 60 years, has closed. The property was sold for $388,000 on Tuesday, Hearst Media reported.

The identity of the new owner has not been revealed.

The 499 New Haven Ave. property was listed for $400,000, according to a LoopNet.com listing.

The building has 1,244 square feet of retail space. The listing for the property highlighted the location's proximity to "major retailers such as Starbucks and Buffalo Wild Wings located nearby." The property is also on "the highly desirable New Haven Ave. [and] benefits from tremendous visibility to over 20,000 vehicles per day."

Last year, the shop celebrated 60 years of serving Milford. The Sundae House sold both traditional and soft serve styles of ice cream.

Though the business has had its ups and downs over the years, the owners previously said COVID wasn't one of them and called it "a great year for us."
