Victim 'Blindsided' By Punch At Restaurant: Milford Police

The victim sustained severe and significant injuries from the punch, police said.

MILFORD, CT — A victim was blindsided by a punch at Stonebridge Restaurant over the Labor Day Weekend, police said.

On Saturday, Sept. 2, the victim was with his friends at Stonebridge located at 50 Daniel St., police said.

With no advance warning, a man, later identified as Samuel Deangelis, 25, of Seymour, punched the victim in the face, police said.

The attack was unprovoked, and the victim was defenseless and blindsided by the punch, resulting in the victim sustaining "severe and significant injuries," police said.

Deangelis was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, police said.

Deangelis was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on Oct. 3, police said.
