Wrong-Way Driver Hits Vehicle On I-95 In Milford: State Police
A driver accused of operating under the influence was driving the wrong way on the highway, according to Connecticut State Police.
MILFORD, CT — A wrong-way driver struck a vehicle before being stopped by troopers, Connecticut State Police said.
On Sunday, Aug. 20, around 10:30 p.m., Troop G in Bridgeport was advised of a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound travel lanes on Interstate 95 at Exit 39 in Milford, state police said.
Responding Troopers saw a silver Subaru Forester traveling south in the northbound lanes and initiated a motor vehicle stop, safely bringing the vehicle to a stop in the area of Exit 37, state police said.

The driver, identified as Kelsey McManus, 34, of Norwalk, was exhibiting signs of possible impairment, state police said.
McManus agreed to participate in a Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which were not performed to standard, state police said.

Troop G was further advised that the Subaru had struck another vehicle before being stopped by troopers, state police said.
No injuries were reported as a result of the collision, state police said.
Based upon the information obtained during the on-scene investigation, McManus was taken into custody and transported to Troop G, where McManus was processed and charged, state police said.
McManus was charged with operating under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, reckless driving, driving wrong way on a divided highway, first-degree reckless endangerment, and interfering with officer, police said.
McManus was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Milford Superior Court on Sept. 21, 2023, state police said.
