2 Massage Parlors Shut Down Indefinitely: Monroe Police
Recent citizen complaints resulted in local police to contact state officials to inspect the massage parlors, police said.

MONROE, CT — Two massage parlors have been shut down by the state Department of Labor indefinitely, police said.
In a news release, police said that "Recent citizen complaints received by the Monroe Police Department resulting in the department contacting the State Department of Labor concerning elicit activity at massage parlors locate in the Town of Monroe."
"On January 23, 2024, the Monroe Police Department and the State Department of Labor, conducted unannounced compliance inspections of Massage Parlors in the Town of Monroe," police said in a news release. "Inspections were performed in an effort to determine compliance with state labor laws. During the inspection, two establishments were found to be non-compliant and were immediately shut down by the Department of Labor until further notice. Each establishment also faces additional administrative sanctions from the Department of Labor."

Police said the establishments found to be in violation are:
- Crystal Spa, 500 Monroe Turnpike.
- Blue Rose Spa, 115 Main Street.
